David King and Gerard Whateley have named the top four seeds ahead of the first week of the 2024 AFL finals series.

Eight teams remain but only four can fit into each set of seeds.

See their seedings below: Number one is the team they’re most confident in.

KING

1 - Sydney

“All things being equal they win this week and health is your best player,” King said on SEN's Whateley.

2 - Western Bulldogs

“I’m still sticking with the Dogs.

“I know that things could open up for them if they get through the Hawks. The Hawks are the biggest of challenges on Friday night, no doubt.

“I’ve got unbelievable faith that their (the Dogs’) leaders will fire again.

“Marcus Bontempelli is in ripping form, their tall forwards are a point of difference that if they really get rolling no one will match.”

3 - GWS Giants

“They’ve got a big opportunity this week to really put a flag in the ground and charge.

“I don’t think they’re firing on all cylinders, but they’ve got talent everywhere.

“This little bloke who is 182cm and plays centre half-forward that can just do anything in a finals series - Toby Greene - they’re waiting for him to go gangbusters.

“I’m not going to put a line through them until they’re absolutely without a pulse.”

4 - Brisbane

“I still think they’re too good to just dismiss.

“They’ll get the job done this week and we’ll talk about them getting on the road in the next few weeks.

“I’m just going to leave them in there.”

WHATELEY

1 - Western Bulldogs

“I’ve got the Dogs at one.

“Only one or two are going to survive my seedings.”

2 - Hawthorn

3 - Sydney

“Huge scope, I just want to see it.

“I just want to see Saturday…”

4 - Brisbane

“I’ve got the Lions at four as well.

“I think their footy absolutely stacks up.”
