With the countdown to Grand Final day in full swing, it’s only a matter of time before we hear the legendary Katy Perry take over the MCG.
The American pop star is set to make her return down under for the first time since her 2018 Tour. Known for her sensational stage presence and catchy pop hits like I Kissed A Girl, Teenage Dream, California Gurls and Firework, the AFL and all of Australia is ready to see her light up the stage on Saturday.
SEN regular and Channel 9's Tom Morris spoke this morning about the AFL’s eager demands to hear Perry play only her best bangers, despite recently releasing her '143' album.
“I’ve never seen myself as an entrainment reporter, and I won’t start doing this regularly,” orris said on *SEN Breakfast.
“But (Katy Perry) is playing about five songs and the AFL was very keen for her to play five classic tunes, she wanted to play two new ones. In the end they met halfway and she’s playing one new song and four classics.
“She’s doing a rehearsal on Thursday at the MCG which means the Brisbane Lions can’t train on Thursday at the MCG. They’ll be doing a captain's run on the Friday, and so will the Swans around the Grand Final Parade.
“I don’t know what your views are on Katy Perry, but they always play an obligatory new song and that’s what Robbie Williams did a couple years ago.”
