Carlton’s Matt Kennedy and Lewis Young look set to remain at Ikon Park, reports AFL Media’s Cal Twomey.
The duo had been told that they were free to look around the competition for a move this off-season, but with no obvious takers, Twomey says they’re now more likely to stay than go.
Given both Kennedy (2025) and Young (2026) have contracts for next season, their immediate futures are locked in if they can’t find a new home.
The other Blue that’s been told to look around is Matt Owies.
While the small forward kicked 33 goals in 2024, he’s without a contract and doesn’t appear likely to remain a Blue.
According to reports, Owies has held talks with West Coast and Gold Coast but no contract offer has been presented yet.
Reports that he was chasing a deal worth $700,000-800,000 a season were refuted by SEN’s Sam Edmund on Wednesday.
