The Western Bulldogs are expressing interest in contracted Carlton midfielder Matt Kennedy according to SEN regular and Nine’s Tom Morris.
The 27-year-old was told he could look around this off-season by Carlton last month, but no suitors had emerged throughout the trade period.
With his future in limbo, Morris says that the Bulldogs have begun taking a closer look at the 118-gamer with just a day and a half remaining in the trade window.
“What I can tell you is that the Western Bulldogs have expressed interest in Matt Kennedy from Carlton,” Morris told AFL Trade Radio.
“This is a name that's been bandied around a little bit because he's contracted at the Blues, but they’ve said to him, ‘If you want more midfield time, feel free to have a look around’.
“They were happy to keep him, and Matt Kennedy has clearly spent the last few weeks thinking about his future.
“He would also be happy to stay at Carlton but understands that midfield time might be limited, and the Dogs have interest in him with a day and a half remaining in the trade period.”
Kennedy played 24 games for Carlton in 2024 in a variety of roles but was subbed out early in the Elimination Final loss against Brisbane.
