The Blackcaps will be out to add the perfect exclamation point to their historic Test tour to India, when they take on the hosts in the third and final contest in Mumbai, starting Friday.
Fresh from the 2-0 defeat in Sri Lanka, few gave the New Zealanders much hope against the No. 1 ranked Indians. But the tourists proved a point on the pitch with comprehensive wins in the first two Tests to write their names in the record books - names they'll be able to underline if they can make it a clean sweep over the coming days.
NZ wicketkeeper Tom Blundell admits the enormity of their achievement is yet to sink in, and it's left India in a similar state, trying to process exactly what went wrong.
With so much talk about their tour to Australia, Blundell suggests they may have overlooked the threat posed by a hungry and talented NZ side.
"They're a little bit shell-shocked," Blundell told SENZ Mornings.
"When we first came over, I think they had a slogan on TV saying five-nil for their home summer, or something along those lines.
"I'm pretty sure they wrote us off coming after Sri Lanka. But I think they're pretty shocked in terms of what we've achieved, and how we've come out and competed and played some really good cricket to beat these guys - one of the best teams in the world.
"I think they're a little bit shell-shocked in terms of what has happened."
The teams now head to Mumbai, where the red soil pitch promises a different kind of offering to what they've encountered in Bengaluru and Pune, with more turn, more bounce and therefore much more for the seamers to work with.
While they have the series safely secured, Blundell says there's still plenty to play for in Mumbai. But whatever the result, they'll be touching back down in New Zealand to begin their home summer emboldened and filled with pride.
"You've got the World Test Championship still on the line, that's something that motivates us as well. But it's going to be a challenge. India are probably hurting from this.
"But regardless of the result, we can go home with a pretty big smile on our faces. What we've achieved here is pretty immense, it's probably one of the biggest highlights of my career.
"We're excited. We've got a possibility of beating them 3-0. But regardless of that, we're pretty chuffed."
