The first Test between Australia and India has gotten off to an exciting start with the visitors 4/82 after the opening session on Day 1.
The day’s play got off to the perfect start imaginable for the Aussies, with Mitchell Starc removing Yashasvi Jaiswal first ball of the match LBW after captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first.
After making 161 in the second dig in Perth, Jaiswal played all around the hooping pink ball which trapped him in front of leg stump.
While India was able to grab much of the ascendancy throughout the afternoon with a second-wicket partnership of 69, the Aussies struck with three quick wickets with all of KL Rahul (37), Virat Kohli (7) and Shubman Gill (31) falling, handing Australia the session.
Starc has been the main threat with the ball with 3/31 from his seven overs, while Scott Boland (1/24 off seven overs) got the Gill wicket and was unlucky to not have Rahul out during his first spell.
The second session will begin at 5:40 pm (AEDT). Listen to every ball LIVE on the SEN app.
