Ox’s take it to the bank: Schwarz certain his former club will smash Roos at Marvel

David Schwarz is tipping his former club Melbourne to have a big win over North Melbourne on Sunday.

While the Demons head into the game as comfortable $1.38 favourites with Sportsbet, the line is only set at -18.5 points.

Schwarz expects the Demons to comfortably cover that margin, and he’s tipping them to win by at least eight goals or 48 points.

Even though many are bullish that the Kangaroos will bounce in 2025 after more than half a decade near the bottom of the ladder, Schwarz can’t see them toppling Melbourne this week even though both teams enter the clash 0-1.

“There’s a fair bit happening this week, but I’ve got a big call,” Schwarz told SEN The Captain’s Run.

“I'm going to stick with my old team, Melbourne only because I probably know them better than just about any other club.

“They will bounce back in a big way, and I'm tipping them to win by eight goals plus.

“I don't want to put pressure on the club. But, they better deliver, I’d want to get one of these right.

“I'm happy to win by a point, it doesn’t matter, but I think they’ll be too good in this one.”

Sunday’s game between the Roos and Demons at Marvel Stadium begins at 3:20 pm (AEDT).
