Craig Bellamy has admitted he is unsure if he’ll see out the remainder of his contract with the Melbourne Storm.

In April, the Melbourne Storm confirmed that the club’s coach of 23 years had been diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disorder.

While the club stated that the disorder is not currently impacting his coaching ability, there are concerns that the three-time premiership coach may not be able to see out his current deal through to 2028.

Speaking in his first media opportunity since his diagnosis on Saturday, the 66-year-old was not certain that he would remain in the role for the next two and a half seasons.

“I don’t know, I’m thinking about this week,” he said.

Bellamy also used the opportunity to thank those who sent messages of support following the news.

“That’s the one thing that I can’t believe, how many messages I’ve got,” Bellamy said.

“I’d probably say that I really apologise, I haven’t got back to any, I don’t think, I’ve been pretty busy with the footy.

“But everyone that has sent me a message, I don’t know how many there’s, but I really appreciate it, and hopefully I’ll get back to you soon.”

Bellamy and the Storm next feature on Sunday when they host the Wests Tigers at AAMI Park, where they’ll look to break their club record seven-game losing streak.

SEN League will have live coverage of the match available on SEN’s radio network and on the SEN app from 12pm AEST with NRL Crunch Time.

The match kicks off at 2pm.
