Simply Marvel-lous: Docklands Stadium maintains naming rights partner

Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium will remain known as Marvel Stadium after a new deal was struck with Walt Disney Company.

It’s understood a long-term agreement has been struck with Marvel’s parent company to keep the name, with the initial eight-year contract expiring this year.

The stadium, which opened in 2000, had been known as Colonial Stadium, Telstra Dome and Etihad Stadium prior to Marvel’s takeover.

The name has quickly become a hit with fans, particularly kids who love the global entertainment brand.
