Police have not spoken to any Sydney Swans players regarding sexual assault allegations inside a Melbourne hotel room.

It has been widely reported that some - or all - of the five Sydney players have been interviewed by police since the early hours of Monday morning.

Those reports are false.

Victoria Police and the Swans have released a strongly-worded statement to stress no player has yet been interviewed by detectives. Nor have any charges been laid.

"The Sydney Swans supports the action taken by Victoria Police in releasing today’s statement regarding the investigation," it read.

"The Sydney Swans categorically confirms that no member of staff is involved in the investigation. This includes being in the hotel room central to the police investigation.

"The Club reiterates that no player has been interviewed by police at this stage."

The Swans on Wednesday banned Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice and James Jordon for the remainder of the season for breaching club standards in a sanction separate to the ongoing police investigation.

Those players are yet to return to club headquarters and it’s yet to be decided whether they will be allowed back during Sydney’s 2026 campaign.

The AFL has stated none are eligible for All-Australian selection next week.

Sydney yesterday released a statement criticising misinformation surrounding the allegations and revealing they would consider its own legal options.

The Swans have repeatedly insisted the only representatives in the hotel room central to the police investigation were the five players who have been stood down.

Coach Dean Cox was yesterday forced to deny he was in the room.

“I wasn't in the room,” Cox said.

Sydney tomorrow host a historic double header at the SCG with its Swans-Bombers AFLW game followed by the men’s clash against North Melbourne.
