SEN’s Sam Edmund has provided an update on three out-of-contract Giants ahead of their Semi-Final clash with Brisbane.

Harry Perryman, Isaac Cumming and James Peatling are all playing out the final year of their respective deals, with all three featuring in the club’s six-point Qualifying Final loss to Sydney.

“I want to start with Harry Perryman, he’s the unrestricted free agent of the Giants,” Edmund told SEN’s Whateley.

“I would say now, he his highly likely, if not certain to leave GWS according to two sources I’ve spoken to this morning.

“This has been in the air for several months; I think you can now say he’s got his head around leaving as we sit here this morning.

“Destination unknown, he’s got what the Giants hope is three big games ahead of him first and foremost.

“Port Adelaide are being seen to be front of the queue for a long time, Hawks have also been at the table, I think we can mention Collingwood as a club that was in the mix for him as well.

“The Giants have got a six-year offer in front of Perryman who is in his mid-twenties, they are of the belief that they are being priced out by almost every rival that has expressed an interest.

"As we've always said, if he does stay, it’s through a pure love for the club.”

It is expected that Perryman will sign a five-year deal to join Port Adelaide, however it remains unconfirmed.

“Isaac Cumming is the same, I’m less sure on where he’s sitting with the wrestle as he hasn’t resigned of course, being chased by Adelaide,” Edmund continued.

“The Giants have offered four years; they won’t go any further than that for a player that has had some injuries down the years and some tendon injuries at that.

“Their offer isn’t the best out there for him either.”

After a breakout season for James Peatling, the utility has attracted several clubs across the AFL, with stocks continuing to rise throughout the September campaign.

“While we are on the Giants, James Peatling has been linked to just about everyone, St Kilda, Collingwood, North Melbourne and others,” Edmund reported.

“He has an improved offer on the table from GWS but he’s still wrestling with that, he has popped this year and what happens is, you give a contract where you think the player is at, a modest offer, and then he pops, the interest comes, you provide the improved offer but by then, as we’ve seen the cat is out of the bag.

“There’s a number of clubs interested in James Peatling on both sides of the country, so still a decision to make for him as well.”

All focus will remain on this Saturday as the Giants host the Lions in a do-or-die Semi-Final.
