The Silver Ferns have received a welcome boost to their Constellation Cup fortunes with the return of key defender Phoenix Karaka.
After missing the Taini Jamison Trophy series due to injury, Karaka has been named as part of Dame Noeline Taura's 13-strong squad for the upcoming clash with world champions Australia.
"Phoenix’s return is a massive boost for us," Dame Noeline said.
"She brings leadership and strength to our defensive end, and her experience will be crucial as we prepare to face Australia."
Ameliaranne Ekenasio will captain the side, which will try to prevent the Diamonds' claimng the trans-Tasman spoils for a third consecutive year.
In the lead-up to the series, the Silver Ferns will also train against a NZA side, which consists of 13 players from the Silver Ferns and Silver Fern Development Squads who will play training matches in Wellington against both the Silver Ferns and the New Zealand Men's teams.
The Constellation Cup begins in Wellington on October 20, followed by matches in Auckland (October 23), Perth (October 27), and Melbourne (October 30).
