Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is pleased to announce a new program to hit the airwaves from this Sunday, November 10, running through until mid- March, 2025.

‘The Performance Hour with Tiffany Cherry and Emma Carney’ will be 60 minutes from 9 to 10am AEDT every Sunday, dedicated to exploring the science of sporting performance with a focus on women in sport.

Co-hosted by Tiffany Cherry and Emma Carney - two well-known leaders in Australian sport - and supported by experienced producer, Jacqueline Shields, the show is a unique sports offering added to SEN’s programming across Australia

The live-to-air show will provide a platform for women and girls’ experience in sport science and high performance to be discussed and debated. The talented on-air team will be discussing the latest research, products, protocols and initiatives designed to maximise performance and mitigate injury, with specific lens on female athletes.

"We are committed to supporting women in sport and making space for women's voices to be heard,” said Sam Thompson, SEN’s Group Radio Director. “We are excited to launch ‘The Performance Hour’ with a dynamic team of women at the helm, with Tiffany Cherry and Emma Carney on the mics focused on the female experience in sport at a time of unprecedented interest in women's sport.”

Tiffany Cherry is a trailblazer for inclusion and an advocate for women in sport, being the AFL’s first female boundary rider on Fox Footy. It’s fitting Tiffany rejoins SEN having been the first woman on-air talent for the station, which included creating and hosting the first all-women led national sports radio show, ‘The Hen House’.

Emma Carney joins Tiffany on the mic with an impressive athletic record, as a multiple world champion, Sport Australia Hall of Fame athlete member, and World Triathlon Hall of Fame inductee. At her peak, Emma dominated the sport of triathlon, remaining world number one for the longest period the sport has seen to date. Today, Emma is a high performance coach and an integral part of the World Triathlon development and education team, ensuring that the sport of Triathlon continues to grow across the world.

“I can’t wait to return to SEN, after breaking new ground on the station two decades ago,” Cherry said. “It will be great to be on air with my old sparring partner, great friend, and dual triathlon World Champion, Emma Carney, discussing and uncovering every aspect of women’s sport on the weekly ‘The Performance Hour’.”

‘The Performance Hour’ will be heard every Sunday from 9 to 10am AEDT, thanks to Australian Catholic University (ACU). The program will be broadcast nationally on SEN, and can be heard live and on-demand on the SEN app.
