SEN WA Breakfast duo Tim Gossage and Scott Cummings have done some early off-the-cuff 2025 AFL predictions.
Part of their predictions was to pick their biggest slider in 2025 – the team that they see dropping most from where they finished up in 2024.
Gossage picked premiers Brisbane, who he foresees missing the top four next campaign without Joe Daniher. Coleman Medallist Cummings went with Hawthorn as he’s unsure whether they can back up their Semi-Final finish from last season.
Gossage: “I’ve got Brisbane.”
Cummings: “Brisbane sliding? Wow.”
Gossage: “It’ll be very hard to back up, and I don’t mean they’re not going to be competitive or a contender.
“I don't think slide as in missing the eight, but I think Joe Daniher out is huge.
“I know Logan Morris is a kid on the up, but not yet, and I’m not sold on Eric Hipwood being a key target forward.
“I don't think they're going to capitulate, but I think it's going to be very hard to defend if they don't make the top four.”
Cummings: “I've got a Hawthorn sliding.
“I know they finished seventh in 2024, and it’s not like they’ll be bottom in 2025, but if they miss finals that’s a slide.
“Especially for a team that some think is on the up.
“I know some are bullish about them, but I'm hesitant about them.”
The duo also made calls on their big improvers, coaches under pressure and more!
