The Marvel Stadium turf has come under scrutiny once again during Monday night’s Big Bash clash between the Renegades and Scorchers.
The Renegades won a thrilling contest by six balls with two wickets remaining in what could only be described as a scrappy affair.
However, fans and experts alike have voiced their frustration on social media with the quality of the turf under the roof.
Marvel Stadium has always been a controversial venue for Big Bash games, with the pitch rarely providing much spice and the turf chopped up by constant usage.
Scorchers coach Adam Voges was not happy with the wicket either, labelling the pitch “substandard”.
Voges also confirmed that the Perth side raised concerns with Cricket Australia about the outfield, but it had been deemed safe.
SEN’s Tom Morris and Adam White also had their say on the pitch on Tuesday morning.
Morris also sourced a statement from Cricket Australia regarding the outfield.
