The best bets for Saturday racing from the Trackside team!
CAULFIELD
Race 2 | 2. Brazen Lady
Little freshen up but last race form has held up in a big way and this is easier. Little speed drawn directly inside her so jockey can ease over and sit close in a small field. Jumped out nicely couple weeks back so fitness shouldn’t be an issue.
Race 5 | 2. Athanatos
Feels like this is the goal. He peaked 50m short last start over 1500m when loomed to win. Finally gets back to 1600m which his is only ever win over Derby winner. Will have a soft run from the gate and expect to be closer in run than last start
Race 10 | 2. Mixxit
Drawn horribly but there isn’t a huge amount of speed so hoping he can roll over fairly easily. He has no real turn of foot so will need to control race and turn it into a grind from the 600m which I feel he can. Fast track and Mile deep into prep is perfect.
ROSEHILL
Race 2 | 9. King Of Thunder
Was pretty good resuming over 1400m which is way too short! Has a great speed map from inside gate up to the 1900m! Was really good in the Derby and this is a very winnable race for a stable in form!! The two favs (Perfect Play & Hurtsville Zagreb) will be on pace so hoping King Of Thunder can box seat and go bang!!
Race 3 | 6. United States
Will go back from the gate and ridden quietly after over racing last start. There will be a lot of speed so J Mac can take his time and come around them late. The 1200m also suits this bloke. Forgive him last start and I think today we will see a more experienced performance. Skyhook should have won last start and is another who will enjoy the 1200m.
Race 5 | 6. Kinesiology
Really intriguing race with many different forms and stories etc. Lindermann deserves fave but is too short for me. I think Kinesiology has been really good this prep without much luck and gets to the 2000m which I think is perfect third up. Really good little each way play where you can use the more places feature on Sportsbet to get a better price for third than Lindermann winning. Too short for Vauban but good to see him today.
Race 6 | 1. Wonder Boy
Still flat after he should have won at Flemington but need to go again. Up to 1500m suits as will the gate as I think he might be closer wiht no major speed outside of the Kiwi Movin Out. Can hopefully be a pair only off the speed and as long as he handles Sydney way of going (I think he will) he will be very hard to beat!
Race 8 | 5. Marble Arch (each-way)
Was brilliant in the Blamey off a hot tempo! Plenty of speed in the race so I expect her to have a similar run today. Would love an upgrade but she will be flashing home in middle of track! Lady Shenandoah the clear fav but that gate is the reason there is a concern so it comes with risks but J Mac is J Mac. Scarlett Oak will appreciate the speed and fly home with no weight so another who will run a bottler.
CAULFIELD
Race 4 | 2. Tatsumaki
ROSEHILL
Race 1 | 1. Salisano
Race 5 | 1. Lindermann
Race 6 | 9. Lazzura
Race 9 | 1. Pericles
Race 10 | 9. Harlem Queen
CAULFIELD
Race 8 | 13. Killiana
Stable have huge opinion of this horse. Went to Bendigo on debut, and absolutely bolted in. Straight to town and will measure up. Could be a star.
ASCOT
Race 8 | 1. Bonjoy
In career best form this horse, winning three in a row. Back to 1400m no problems, and handles a soft track. Short enough but can win again.
EAGLE FARM
Race 8 | 1. Prince Levi
In form, hard fit and flew late to score last start. Expecting similar.
