Corey Parker has criticised Brisbane's performance following their horror loss on Sunday, labelling it as 'unacceptable'.

The Broncos became the first team in 295 days to lose to St. George Illawarra, with the Dragons winning 30-26 at Suncorp Stadium after dominating the majority of the match.

That now confines the reigning premiers to their fourth straight loss, maintaining their spot at 11th.

While Michael Maguire's men had the exact win-loss record and ladder position this time last year and went on to win the premiership, there are growing concerns for their ability to repeat the feat, as expressed by Ben Hunt prior to their loss.

As a result, the 347-game player for the Broncos has expressed serious disappointment following the dismal result, considering they were well rested for the clash.

“The disappointing thing, aside from what they produced, they come off a bye,” Parker explained on SENQ Breakfast.

“We spoke to Ben Hunt on Friday, and (he) said ‘Yep, traditionally, sometimes they train, and Madge (Michael Maguire) has been known for overworking, over-training them, etc’.

“Well, he gave them four days off.

“He said, ‘Get away from football, spend it with your families, enjoy the break, come back’.

“So, they get a home game, 42,000 people turned up, dry pitch, no rain, dry pitch, which really leans into their style of football, an expansive, fast, up-tempo style of football.

“Coming off the bye, they've had four days off, and they tossed up that.

“I mean, it's unacceptable and look they need to have a look at what has transpired in the week leading up, cause Madge said it was a pretty good preparation.

“But they just did not turn up where they needed to in those little areas, the standard areas that they hold in high regard.

“Because what they displayed yesterday at home, they're on their heels, they were flat, like they weren't on the balls of their feet, they weren't pushing forward. One person would take a run; the rest would sit back.

“And they had probably their strongest team that they could field for some time.”

Parker wasn't the only one to express his disappointment with Maguire reportedly giving the side a massive spray, according to Hunt.

“As you could imagine, he wasn’t real happy after that one,” he admitted after the match.

“Deservingly, he ripped into us, he really did.

“We need to have a look at ourselves and sort it out or the season’s going to disappear pretty quickly.”

The Broncos will look to break their four-game losing streak against their rivals, the Gold Coast Titans, next Saturday.

Kick-off takes place 7:35pm AEST at Suncorp Stadium, with SEN having live coverage of the match from 7pm with Broncos Radio on SENQ, which can be heard on the SEN app.
