With Selwyn Cobbo rekindling his NRL career, Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf has spoken about how the outside back has managed to get back to his best form.
Having left the Broncos after only playing 15 games in 2025, the winger signed a one-year deal with their cross-town rivals, the Dolphins, with a point to prove.
And with that motivation, Cobbo has reminded the NRL world what he is capable of following a strong pre-season.
With the Dolphins now ascending into the top four, the winger has been key to their rise, scoring six tries in his last four games, averaging 228.25 run metres in those matches.
As a result of his form, the 24-year-old re-entered the Maroons’ fold in this year’s State of Origin series and hasn’t looked out of place, becoming the seventh Queensland player to score a hat-trick in the series’ 44-year history during Game II.
When asked by Corey Parker whether Cobbo’s form has stemmed from his enjoyment of the game, Woolf believed it’s gone a long way.
But it isn’t the only thing that has seen him rediscover his form.
“It's probably not only that,” Woolf told SENQ Breakfast.

“I think that's a big part of it, the fact that he is enjoying his footy.
“But I've said it all along, ever since he turned up at the club, he turned up fit day one (and) he wanted to prove a point.
“He turned up fit, and that said a lot to me about what his intentions were, and he's continued to be that way.
“He's continued to maintain his weight and his fitness, which is important to him cos he's a big man and that's part of his strength, but as I said, he's got to stay on top of that.
“Because he's fit and because he's healthy, he's able to be really consistent in his training, and he's able to keep working on things to try and improve his game, and he's been great in all those areas.
“So, he really deserves a lot of credit for how hard he's worked to put himself in this position.”
The Dolphins are up against the Warriors this Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.
Kick-off takes place at 3pm AEST with SEN League having live coverage of the match from 1pm across our radio network and on the SEN app with Crunch Time NRL.
