Blake Johnston

SUPER SMINK (Ascot R8 #13) finished powerfully into second second-up and then went one better after settling closer in the run last time out. She’s strong at the end of her races and although she hasn’t won at a mile, it shouldn’t pose her any issues. If she can have some luck from the wide draw, she can blouse them late.

DEEPOUR (Cranbourne R8 #10) caught the eye late first-up when making his debut for the new stable. He clocked the best last 200m of the meeting and will be better suited here with an extra 200m. His best measures up and the change of scenery might help him to find it.

GLOBE (Cranbourne R9 #11) is ready to improve third-up. The market suggested he’d need the run first-up and he did just that, leading before knocking up late. He was much firmer in betting last time and only Light Infantry Man got past him late, that horse will likely start favourite in the G1 Railway Stakes. Will give them plenty to catch.

KING OF THE CASTLE (Kembla Grange R8 #18) still needs to get into the field but he will make his presence felt if he does. Won on this day last year in bm88 grade and drops significantly in weight from his last start win. Maps to receive every hope and looks a sneaky chance at odds.

NOBLE SOLDIER (Kembla Grange R10 #5) hasn’t had much luck at his past four. He was badly held-up first-up when going as well as BOJANGLES at the time he ran out of room. The extra trip suits and he can run well at huge odds on his home track.

STARMAN (Kembla Grange R10 #9) was good hitting the line first-up in limited room. He usually improves second-up and the stable have gone for the claim with Osmond from a low draw. He can settle closer and there looks to be good speed engaged which will suit.
